Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Assist operation teams with breakdown support to include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical downtime events. Assist maintenance team with electrical troubleshooting support. Diagnose and repair faults in PLC hardware and software; perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Installation & Configuration: Set up PLC hardware and software, configure settings, and integrate with other control systems.
• Programming: Write and modify PLC programs using languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams.
• Testing & Commissioning: Validate PLC programs and configurations against specifications; test connections and system performance.
• Documentation: Record technical procedures, maintenance activities, and fault histories for future reference.
• Collaboration: Work with engineers and other technical staff on system design, improvements, and automation projects.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Control the efficient operation of all production equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic repair and preventive maintenance.
• Assure the preventative maintenance program is conducted and report improvements or upgrades to our preventative maintenance schedule.
• Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
• Inform the appropriate facility personnel/ supervisor of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would affect the area of operation.
• Observe all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment; report all injuries, accidents, and hazards immediately.
• Follow all established Food Safety guidelines and GMPs, including maintaining an orderly and clean work environment.
• Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
• Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
Qualifications:
• Education:
o High School Diploma or GED required; Maintenance license and certificates a plus.
o 10+ years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, or equivalent military experience.
• Electrical Knowledge: Understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and safety practices.
• PLC Expertise: Proficiency in PLC programming, hardware, and diagnostics.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify root causes of faults quickly and implement fixes.
• Communication: Clear explanation of technical issues to non-technical staff. Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Software: Familiarity with PLC programming software, CMMS systems, and possibly robotics, vision systems, and automation.
• Schedule:
o Monday – Friday, ability to work daily overtime and/or weekend overtime as needed
• Must have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Must be able to lift/push 100lbs.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to operate/train to operate a Forklift.
Experience with any of the following is a Plus:
o Experience with multi-layer extrusion equipment, specifically Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) brand
o Experience with printing presses, specifically Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) brand
o Experience with roll slitting machines, specifically Kampf and Deacro brands
o Experience with wicketing machines, specifically LEMO brand
o Experience with pouching machines, specifically Totani brand
