Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing work to maintain and repair machines, mechanical equipment, and the structural integrity of the facility to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Duties may involve repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing machine parts, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. Use manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle tools, operate equipment, and complete detailed repair tasks. Must have sufficient vision to inspect parts and ensure repairs are completed to standard. The environment is fast paced; time pressured and requires accuracy. Must have the ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the building, and effectively communicate. The employee is asked to meet these physical requirements for a minimum of an 8-hour shift, 40 hours per week.
Education and Training Requirements
A high school diploma is required for a career as a Maintenance Technician. Additionally, there is a minimum of 4 years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, air compressors, and hydraulic systems. Ability to follow safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic is a must. Knowledge of compliance with OSHA, EHS, and company safety policies is mandatory.
