$25 to $30 per hour depending on experience
_SUMMARY of the Maintenance Mechanic _
Ensure production operations run efficiently by maintaining, repairing, and replacing equipment as needed.
*PRIMARY FUNCTION of the Maintenance Mechanic *
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on all production equipment including performing lubrication, inspections, greasing bearings, oiling chains, and changing filters on equipment.
- Fabricates, assembles, and installs components of equipment.
- Monitors and maintains equipment preventative maintenance (PM) as assigned, visual inspections and/or cleans parts.
- Responsible for the timely execution of work orders.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Requests parts for responsible equipment and writes work order when repair is needed.
- Shares knowledge with Mechanic I.
- Follow safety guidelines established by the Company in accordance with OSHA.
*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED of the Maintenance Mechanic *
- Two to three years experience in equipment repair, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Understands how to read blueprints.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES of the Maintenance Mechanic *
- Basic knowledge of electricity, machine shop tools, motors, gear boxes, bearings, pumps, and control valves.
- Knowledge of industrial hydraulics & pneumatics.
- Knowledge of proper safety procedures.
- Knowledge of motors and motor controls.
- Some knowledge of how far to take repair.
- Sometimes able to make the machine run until the part arrives.
- Knows when to ask for assistance when necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to make quick decisions during times of stress.
- Usually work in tandem on repair jobs.
- Skills required: written and verbal communication, basic math, manual dexterity.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
- Not applicable, but desire for learning and progressing should be evident.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- No supervisory responsibility but may be called upon to train or mentor Mechanic Assistants.
REGULATORY RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Member of Safety Team.
- Represents regulatory compliance and food safety responsibility.
- Accountable for ensuring adherence to Maintenance GMP standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequent bending.
- Moderate lifting of up to 100 pounds (often overhead).
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 75 pounds.
- Constant walking.
- Frequent kneeling.
- Very frequent standing.
- Very frequent talking.
- Continuous hearing.
- Frequent pushing and pulling of bakery equipment.
- Constant use of hands and fingers (dexterity).

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequent loud to moderate noises.
- Extreme temperature fluctuations from very hot (up to 110and high humidity) to freezer conditions (0 Fahrenheit).
