Job Overview:

As a community Maintenance Technician, you will support the overall upkeep of the community through a mix of maintenance, janitorial, and porter responsibilities. This role focuses on keeping common areas, amenities, and building systems clean, safe, and fully operational through hands-on repairs, preventative maintenance, and daily upkeep. You will also utilize work order systems to track tasks and ensure timely, high-quality service.

Compensation: $24+ per hour, depending on experience

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client''s property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client''s directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC repair, painting, drywall repair, pressure washing) on buildings, systems, common areas and amenities
  • Perform basic handyman work and repairs as needed
  • Maintain recreational amenities (i.e. lounge areas, outdoor spaces, pool deck, etc.)
  • Conduct routine inspections
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks
  • Maintain pool features, including skimming pools, light pool deck cleaning, and monitoring pumps, filters, and water quality (pH levels)
  • Provide porter services, including moving and arranging pool furniture and maintaining cleanliness of shared spaces
  • Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties in common areas, including general cleaning, kitchen sanitation (where applicable), restroom upkeep, and mat changes
  • Operate custodial equipment such as floor buffers, including stripping and waxing floors
  • Perform power washing of walls, walkways, and common surfaces
  • Complete grounds work throughout the common areas and amenities to keep community safe, clean and free of debris
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Complete maintenance reports, work orders, documentation, and other necessary records using property management systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and maintain state-required auto insurance (if operating a company or personal vehicle for business purposes)
  • Strong communications skills (including written)
  • Proven initiative and strong work ethic; self-starter who seeks information when needed
  • Must have general knowledge of building mechanics, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical
  • Comfortable using computers and systems for tracking work orders and reporting

Education and Experience:

  • HOA residential maintenance OR equivalent: 2 years (preferred)
  • Property OR High-Rise Management OR equivalent: 2 years (preferred)
  • Excellent handyman skills, including maintenance in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC: 2 years (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned
  • Able to lift to 50+ pounds

Work Location: Florence, AZ

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a - 5p. Scheduled 8 hours may vary based on seasonal needs.
