Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play an important role in maintaining FWHA properties and ensuring buildings and equipment remain in good working condition.
Responsibilities include:
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building systems and equipment across FWHA properties.
Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and walkways.
Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and equipment upkeep.
Diagnose maintenance issues by evaluating control panels, electrical systems, and related components.
Maintain and operate grounds equipment, tools, and motorized machinery.
Participate in a rotating after-hours emergency on-call schedule (approximately every 7 weeks).
Apply paint and finishes, including varnish and lacquer, as needed.
Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., digging, loading and unloading materials, and installing components.
Safely and effectively operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, team members, contractors, and vendors.
Approach daily responsibilities with initiative, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Work Environment
Work is performed across multiple FWHA properties, both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions.
Regular interaction with residents and coordination with contractors and vendors is required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related skilled trade.
Valid Indiana driver's license with the ability to meet FWHA insurability requirements.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Ability to perform a wide range of general maintenance and repair tasks.
