Maintenance Technician: Freeport, Illinois
Our customer in Freeport, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting a Maintenance Technician to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing or assisting with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repair work.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs for buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Complete carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and masonry tasks.
- Maintain and repair HVAC systems, appliances, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform custodial duties and maintain clean, safe facilities.
- Maintain grounds including mowing, landscaping, and seasonal upkeep.
- Operate vehicles, tractors, tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Complete work orders, inspections, and maintenance records.
- Respond to maintenance issues and troubleshoot repairs.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, property management, and maintenance staff.
Maintenance TechnicianRequirements and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of apartment/housing maintenance or related experience.
- Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Understanding of maintenance safety practices and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- General knowledge of, or ability to learn, HUD regulations and PHA policies.
Pay for Maintenance Technician: $18.00/hour.
