Maintenance Technician
Sisters of Mercy of the Americas
Fremont, Ohio

Full-Time
Pay Range: $21.25 - $29.00 per hour

The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our Fremont, Ohio community. This role is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our facilities and grounds through preventative maintenance, repairs, and general building upkeep.

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for building systems and equipment

  • Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

  • Complete general building repairs and maintenance tasks

  • Perform light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work

  • Paint and complete touch-up work throughout the facility

  • Assist with landscaping, snow removal, and exterior grounds maintenance

  • Support furniture moves, event setup and breakdown, deliveries, and trash removal

  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas

  • Follow all safety procedures and infection prevention protocols

  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed

  • Collaborate with staff and departments to support community operations

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum of five years of maintenance experience

  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance

  • Experience operating maintenance, landscaping, and groundskeeping equipment

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with residents, staff, and vendors

Preferred:

  • Experience working in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or faith-based environments

  • Appreciation for the mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy

  • Familiarity with Catholic traditions and culture

Schedule

  • Full-time position

  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call availability may be required based on operational needs
