Our Geneva, IL Plant is the newest addition to our North America plant network. To increase capacity and keep pace with the growing consumer demand for the products, General Mills is making a significant investment to expand capacity for our beloved Fruit brands (Gusher and Fruit by the Foot).

Our Geneva General Mills facility is located on the western side of the Chicago, Illinois suburbs in Kane County. Geneva is our most recent North America plant network expansion, joining the GMI network in 2024 making Betty Crocker desserts and our iconic Gushers and Fruit snacks.

Equipment Ownership including installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipment Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and/or electronic issues Providing technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modification Own and manage DMS (Daily Management System) activities inside and outside of shift DDS (Daily Direction Setting) Management of work order, parts requisition, and data entry through understanding and use of Maximo Maintenance Management System Understanding, initiating, and participating in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why) Performing both uptime and down time preventative maintenance Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance Skillset and leadership development opportunities with a pay for skills program to achieve higher pay levels by developing and acquiring new skills from an "Equipment Ownership", "Process Ownership" and "Leadership" standpoint Assist in training new employees
What you have to offer
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED Proficient in English Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance or related industry experience Mechanical knowledge and understanding of PLC operation, electrical motors, gearbox and components along with systems troubleshooting, including use of a multimeter and specialized tools Experience in repairing and troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics and using electrical testing equipment strongly preferred Basic shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, presses, etc.) preferred Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred Physical requirements:
