2nd Shift Maintenance Staff
Location: Greenville, Michigan
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Composition Brands, renowned leaders in premium refrigeration brands U-Line, Marvel, and Viking, is seeking a skilled and dependable 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to join our growing manufacturing team. This critical role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations during our second shift.
As a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our commitment to quality and operational excellence. Working closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams, you will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, and help minimize equipment downtime. Through your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and commitment to continuous improvement, you will help ensure our manufacturing operations consistently produce the premium refrigeration products our customers expect.

Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. General hours are Monday through Thursday, 2:30p.m. -1:00 a.m. plus overtime when required (Friday & Saturday if needed).
Position Overview:
Support 2nd shift manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Perform preventive maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, and work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Hours of work may vary based on production and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general building and facility maintenance, including flooring installation and repair, epoxy floor application, drywall patching, and ceiling tile replacement.
- Conduct basic plumbing repairs and general facility upkeep.
- Assist with assembly line setup, equipment moves, and test room construction.
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and building systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize downtime and support production.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, lifts, and other maintenance equipment safely and effectively (as trained).
- Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Complete maintenance records and work orders accurately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) or more years of maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or related experience preferred.
- Experience with general building maintenance, including drywall repair, painting, flooring, and ceiling systems.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize work and respond effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
