Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Maintenance Technician helps oversee all mechanical areas of the club facility and the grounds to keep the club functioning at top efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains/undertakes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, electrical system, appliances, ventilation system and building structure of the club
- Performs various duties involving painting, carpentry and electrical work
- Maintains the air conditioning, refrigerators and kitchen equipment
- Inspects/maintains air handler units daily
- Inspects lighting throughout the club and makes any necessary changes
- Performs water test for hardness and checks pressure on all chillers
- Checks all motors in engine room
- Changes filter on air handler units
- Responds to calls from staff and members for maintenance throughout the property
- Assists in setting up the Club PA system and decorations for events
- Diagnoses problems replace or repair parts, test and adjust accordingly
- Safely uses a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment
- Detects and reports faulty operations and defective materials as required
- Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) whenever required
- Follows Lock Out Tag Out Procedures
- Complies with safety regulations
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area
Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined with all-around knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical and HVAC
- Possesses the aptitude to perform hands-on repairs HVAC, refrigeration systems, sprinkler and electrical trades
- Able to read and understand trade-related schematics, construction documents and drawings
- Previous experience in the hospitality, education, arts, building management sectors is preferred
- Previous experience working in an environment where managing buildings and grounds was central to the role required
- Able to communicate effectively in English – speaking, writing and reading
- Able to spend the majority of the shift standing; Can work in all weather, including high temperatures; Can competently climb ladders, craw through small spaces; Able to push, pull, lift up to 30lbs
