Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $30/hour
Duration: 1-Year Contract
Schedule: Onsite
Location: Houston, TX 77060
Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of maintenance or service technician experience involving mechanical and electronic repairs

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and machinery.
  • Support the installation, upgrade, maintenance, and inspection of control systems and related equipment.
  • Perform emergency troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Document machine faults, repairs, and maintenance activities to support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to reduce equipment downtime and improve overall reliability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, safety, and efficiency.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a maintenance, service technician, or industrial electrical/electronic repair environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Experience working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, control systems, electronics, or CNC controls.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely disassemble, diagnose, repair, and reassemble equipment.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to support decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
