    Job Summary

    The Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for performing maintenance duties in both electrical and mechanical fields. This position supports the operation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

    Shift Hours: 2nd Shift Maintenance Tech Hours 3:00pm- 12:00am

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Primary Functions:

    • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
    • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
    • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
    • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
    • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
    • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
    • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
    • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
    • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
    • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
    • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
    • Training, safety and good housekeeping.
    • Assists in other departmental duties as required by supervision.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Ability to use various types of test equipment, hand tools, and mechanical devices.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Basic shop math skills required.
    • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of materials, often in awkward or confined positions.
    • Knowledge of and adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety requirements.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Relevant on-the-job training may be considered in place of formal education.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 12 months of maintenance experience required.
    • Three (3) or more years of maintenance experience preferred.

    ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
    • Requires frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting and stretching.
    • Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds of boxes and other equipment/materials.
    • Requires correctable vision to be within the normal range for visual inspection of parts
    • Requires working in areas which are not ventilated or air-conditioned.
    • Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery.
    • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
    • Requires working irregular hours.
    • Disagreeable working conditions. Exposed to dust, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, water, oil, and etc. with several continuously present to the point of being objectional.
