Maintenance Technician I-2nd Shift

Summary

Maintenance Technician I supports plant operations by repairing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient production in a food manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on mechanical and electrical work and value a strong culture of safety and food quality.

Responsibilities

Core Duties

• Troubleshoots and repairs plant equipment, systems, and machinery panels.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance using hand and power tools.
• Fabricates parts as needed to support equipment functionality.
• Assists with general building maintenance and repair activities.

Food Safety & Quality

• Follows all current good manufacturing practices, allergen and sanitation controls, food defense and food fraud protocols, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains and documents preventive controls related to food safety and quality.
• Reports any food safety or quality concerns to management immediately.
• Shares knowledge and collaborates across teams to support continuous improvement.
• Participates in ongoing technical, functional, and professional development.

Safety

• Complies with all workplace health and safety policies.
• Supports a strong safety culture by practicing safe behaviors, reporting hazards, and participating in safety observations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five or more years of experience in equipment repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of electrical components and wiring, including troubleshooting up to 480v.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Ability to work from extended heights and on elevated platforms.
• Effective problem-solving skills and a commitment to teamwork.

Additional Information

• This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
• In the event of absence, the Department Manager will assign a qualified replacement.
