Summary

The Maintenance employee is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment, tools, and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted truss and panel manufacturing operations. This role supports production by minimizing downtime and ensuring all equipment operates reliably and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Equipment Support • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, tools, and machinery. • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and complete timely repairs. • Maintain equipment maintenance logs and document repairs and inspections.

Safety & Compliance • Follow and enforce plant safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. • Ensure equipment is operating safely and address hazards immediately. • Support lockout/tagout procedures and safety inspections.

Facility & Continuous Improvement • Maintain building systems, including lighting, doors, air systems, and general facility needs. • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvements. • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Collaboration & Reporting • Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to prioritize maintenance needs. • Communicate equipment status, repairs, and recurring issues to management.

Qualifications • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (truss or lumber preferred). • Working knowledge of mechanical systems; electrical experience preferred. • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Physical & Work Environment • Plant environment with moderate to high noise. • Regular standing, walking, bending, and climbing; frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
