Job Description:

Maintenance Technician | Now Hiring | Plant City, Florida

 

Compensation Includes:

 

  • Starting range of $33.83 - $41.00/hour - paid weekly

 

Available Shift:

  • 1st Shift
  • Monday-Friday
  • 7 AM - 3 PM 
  • 2nd Shift
  • Monday-Friday
  • 3 PM -11 PM
  • .25/hr shift differential

The Maintenance Technician at Pactiv Evergreen Plant City is responsible for maintaining,
troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing and facility equipment. The Maintenance Technician
must have excellent mechanical and electrical skills and be able to troubleshoot PLC-controlled
printing and packaging equipment utilizing a laptop computer. A minimum of three to five years
of experience is needed in the maintenance field, with manufacturing experience preferred. The
Maintenance Technician is a team player with good communication skills and able to interact with
all areas of the facility in a team environment, and is committed to excellence.


Specific Tasks
1. Answer calls and repair broken equipment.
2. Complete Work Orders.
3. Perform PM on sealers, presses, and plant equipment.
4. Order/receive/rebuild/repair/inventory parts.
5. Manage project to reduce downtime/waste/costs.
6. Interact with vendors and contractors.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Specific Safety Responsibilities:
1. Report any unsafe conditions that are encountered.
2. Report any injury or near miss to the Team Leader immediately.
3. Do not perform a duty that appears to be unsafe without consulting a Team Leader.
4. Recognize hazards of the job and learn how to avoid them.
5. Follow BJAs and SOPs.
6. Observe all Safety Rules.
7. Wear safety equipment and protective devices as required: steel-toe shoes, hearing protection,
cut-gloves, harness, etc.
8. Keep work area clean and uncluttered.
9. Conduct safe behavior observation on a weekly basis; four a month are required

 


Specific SQF Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) policy.
2. Every Pactiv Evergreen team member has a responsibility for ensuring the products we produce
are safe and of good quality.

3. Personally act with behaviors consistent with achieving and maintaining Safe Quality Foods
certification.
4. Behavior in the facility and on equipment shall not compromise the food safety goals.
5. Follow responsibilities for this job description on make ready, start up, or changeover/line
clearance procedure.
6. Do not run an unsafe product.
7. Support the goal of producing a food-safe product by following all programs, policies, SOPs, and GMPs.
8. Report and/or fix the problem that creates a Food Safety Hazard.
9. Place suspect product on precautionary hold.
Specific Functional Responsibilities:
1. Must be able to accurately observe, analyze, and assess detailed troubleshooting needs on
machinery and various equipment
2. Must be able to communicate and exchange information.
3. Must be able to operate equipment, including desktop computers and handheld devices, handle
and prepare material, firmly grasp tools and machinery
4. Normally works an 8-hour shift but may work 12 hours as needed. Working 12-hour shifts 2-3
times per week
5. Standing up to 6 hours per 8-hour shift daily
6. Lifting to 45-50 lbs. frequently 0-5 times per day
7. Turning while carrying 50 lbs. 0-1 times per week
8. Heavy exertion in awkward postures while performing maintenance 0-5 times per day
9. Lifts from floor to waist, knees to waist, waist to shoulder. 0-5 times per day
10. Working inside confined, physically small areas. 0-1 times per day
11. Kneeling on a hard concrete surface; often / daily
12. Pushing a load. 0-2 times per day
13. Squatting, working on equipment. Often/ daily
14. Climbing vertical ladders from ground to platform 25 foot. 0-3 times per day
15. Crouching for 2-5 min. Pulling hand pallet jacks. Crouching – often/ daily. Hand Jack 0-1 time
per week
16. Using hand tools and torque wrenches up to 105ft/lbs. Hand tools throughout the day. Torque
wrenches 0-1 times per week
17. The team member is required to be able to perform the above tasks, with or without reasonable
accommodation.
