Job Summary: Ensures the reliability, performance, and safety of facility equipment, building systems, and material‑handling equipment in a fast‑paced warehouse environment. Performs advanced troubleshooting, complex repairs, system upgrades, fabrication, and preventive maintenance while providing technical guidance to technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
  • Monitors complex repairs, system rebuilds, and equipment overhauls.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical control systems including motors, relays, drives, PLC‑controlled equipment, and 3‑phase power.
  • Reads and interprets advanced electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Performs root‑cause analysis and implements corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Executes and improves preventive maintenance tasks and updates PM records in the CMMS.
  • Uses the CMMS to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and report equipment failures.
  • Maintains and optimizes spare parts inventory and ensures stock levels meet operational needs.
  • Supports development and improvement of maintenance procedures, SOPs, and safety practices.
  • Assists with building, structural, and facility system repairs as needed.
  • Coordinates with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repair services.
  • Participates in and leads continuous improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and facility modifications.
  • Performs advanced welding and fabrication tasks, including custom parts, fixtures, guards, and equipment modifications.
  • Provides day‑to‑day guidance and technical support to maintenance technicians.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and 5S‑compliant maintenance area.
  • Ensures the facility is always tour‑ready.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate mechanical skills required.
  • intermediate electrical and mechanical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Intermediate electrical skills required.
  • Intermediate welding skills required.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of hand tools, power tools, multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring tools.
  • Intermediate welding and fabrication knowledge.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic/hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of safety procedures including LOTO, fall protection, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and spare parts inventory management.
  • Intermediate knowledge of operating material handling equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair 3‑phase electrical systems, VFDs, motors, relays, and control circuits.
  • Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to use knives/box cutters.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery/ hazardous equipment.
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and mentor technicians.
  • Ability to operate a fork lift/pallet jack.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound technical decisions.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations.
  • May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.
  • Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
  • High school Diploma or GED and three to five or more years of related experience required; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • 5 years of hands‑on industrial maintenance experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, or fire suppression systems preferred.
  • Completion of vocational or technical school preferred.
  • OSHA 10 OR OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • Certifications including Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT); EPA 608 refrigerant handling; HVAC Levels I–III (NCCER or equivalent); NFPA 70E electrical safety; NCCER, industrial electrical coursework or advanced mechanical training; welding certifications; and forklift/MHE preferred.
