Enrich the lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Maintenance Technician II role. This position performs intermediate-level maintenance services within a retirement community, supporting resident satisfaction, safety, and facility operations. The Maintenance Technician II works under moderate supervision while performing a wide range of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks. Find your sense of belonging at Wesley!


You will provide continuing care through these responsibilities:

·        Perform routine and preventative maintenance across campus facilities.

·        Complete and manage resident work orders with increasing independence.

·        Perform intermediate repairs including but not limited to

o   Minor plumbing repairs (fixtures, leaks, clogs)

o   Basic electrical (switches, outlets, lighting)

o   Door, lock, and hardware repairs

o   Flooring and wall repairs

·        Assist with unit refurbishment (painting, equipment replacement, quality checks).

·        Maintain grounds and buildings for safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal.

·        Utilize the electronic maintenance management system for tracking work orders.

·        Monitor and assist vendors and contractors on-site.

·        Support safety initiatives, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

·        Participate in emergency response and drills.

·        Assist with inventory, deliveries, and event setups.

·        Leads by example and performs Maintenance Technician I duties as needed to support team productivity and service excellence.

·        Follow all company, federal, state, and local safety regulations.

·        Other duties and projects assigned.

 

Our requirements and qualifications for success:

·        High school diploma or equivalent.

·        Two to five years of maintenance or facilities experience in residential, healthcare, or similar environment.

·        Driving is an essential function and/or legitimate business purpose of this position; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required as a condition of employment.

·        Must complete all required safety training in accordance with OSHA standards and company policy, including but not limited to hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment (PPE) within 30 days of hire.

·        Basic skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications.

·        Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to scheduled work hours.

·        A desire to engage with seniors to help them live their best years.

·        Ability to provide a service-oriented approach to your work.

·        Willingness to perform work that can be physically demanding.

·        Demonstrated proficiency in English verbal and written communication to effectively complete work orders, maintain records, and interpret written instructions and procedures.

·        Displays a personable and comforting personality to care for the residents.

·        Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

·        OSHA 10-hour course certificate preferred.

·        EPA Section 608 Certification.

·        Basic lockout/tagout (LOTO) and utility systems training.

Physical, environmental, and mental requirements:

·        Ability to work in all environmental conditions inside and outside the buildings.

·        Ability to lift fifty pounds using proper body mechanics on a regular basis.

·        Ability to bend, stoop and kneel frequently.

·        Ability to walk up and down flights of stairs and walk for prolonged periods of time.

·        Ability to climb ladders, push and pull items.

·        Apply your physical and muscle strength to lift, push, pull or carry objects.

·        Ability to utilize your lower back and abdominal muscles to support part of the body repeatedly and continuously over time without fatiguing.

·        Ability to use a computer keyboard or touch screen to document maintenance records.


Salary Range: $26.04 to $37.53 per hour
