Maintenance Technician

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 3 Months
Schedule: Monday Friday, 5:30 AM 2:00 PM
Overtime: 10 20 hours per week may be available

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support a food production and manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facility equipment and systems, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safe and efficient operations in a cold-storage environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and repair production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
• Enter, document, and track repair activities in SAP.
• Communicate effectively with operators, maintenance personnel, and site leadership.
• Assist with facility upkeep, including general maintenance and repair projects.
• Support HVAC and industrial refrigeration maintenance activities.
• Maintain compliance with safety and operational standards.

Required Skills

• 3 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.
• Electrical experience with:
  • 480V, 277V, 3-phase systems
  • 220V/120V single-phase systems
  • Load balancing and wiring troubleshooting
  • Reading electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Plumbing experience including drain lines, fixtures, water heaters, and oil-water separators.
• HVAC experience including replacing belts and filters, cleaning condensers, adjusting VAV boxes, and monitoring temperatures.
• Knowledge of motors, starters, frequency drives, dock equipment, high-speed doors, exhaust fans, lighting systems, and building maintenance systems.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperatures.

• Technical or Trade School education.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

• Meat manufacturing and production facility
• Cold environment (~40 F) with some areas as low as 0 F
• Steel-toe boots required on Day 1
• Additional PPE provided onsite
