Job Summary

Buckhead Meat of Houston is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations within a meat manufacturing and production facility. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, facility systems, and building infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance experience and be comfortable working in a cold food-production environment.

Schedule

• Tuesday Saturday
• 2:00 PM 11:00 PM
• Overtime available ( 10 20 hours per week)

Work Environment

• Meat manufacturing and production facility
• Cold environment ( approximately 40 F, with some areas as low as 0 F)
• Fast-paced industrial setting
• Exposure to refrigerated and freezer areas

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare production equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and facility-related issues
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance
• Enter and track maintenance work orders through SAP
• Communicate effectively with operators, maintenance personnel, and site leadership
• Support facility maintenance and repairs
• Assist with HVAC and industrial refrigeration system maintenance
• Perform general building maintenance including painting, drywall repair, ceiling tile replacement, lighting repairs, and facility upkeep

• TIG/MIG welder
• Bench grinder
• Drill press
• Hand and power tools
• Blade sharpening equipment
• Food-grade lubricants

Required Experience (3 5 Years)

Electrical

• Experience with 480V, 277V, 3-phase systems
• Experience with 220V and 120V single-phase systems
• Load balancing and electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics

Plumbing

• Running drain lines
• Repairing sinks, toilets, and urinals
• Replacing O-rings, packings, and water heaters
• Maintaining oil-water separators

HVAC

• Replacing belts and filters
• Cleaning condensers
• Adjusting VAV boxes
• Monitoring building temperatures

General Maintenance

• Motors, starters, and frequency drives
• Dock levelers and trailer restraints
• High-speed doors
• Exhaust fans
• Occupancy sensors
• Baseboard heaters
• Lighting ballasts
• HVAC fan power boxes

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
• Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl throughout shift
• Work in varying temperatures, including freezer environments
• Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance tasks

PPE Requirements

Required Day 1:

• Steel-toe boots

Recommended:

• Warm clothing

Provided Onsite:

• Additional PPE as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience
• HVAC and refrigeration maintenance experience
• Electrical and plumbing experience
• Robotics and automation experience
• Material handling equipment experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical or Trade School education preferred
• Strong math and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
