Job Summary
Our client, a leading food manufacturing and distribution company located in Houston, TX, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support their production facility. This is a contract position scheduled to run approximately 24 weeks (960 total hours), with a standard 40-hour work week and potential overtime of 10 20 hours weekly. No travel is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare production equipment for daily operations
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including 480V, 277V, 3-phase, and 220V/120V single-phase systems
- Perform load balancing and read electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Conduct plumbing repairs including drain lines, oil-water separators, fixtures, O-rings, and water heaters
- Maintain HVAC systems including belts, filters, condensers, and VAV boxes
- Maintain general facility equipment: lighting ballasts, dock levelers, trailer restraints, high-speed doors, motors, starters, frequency drives, exhaust fans, occupancy sensors, and baseboard heaters
- Enter, update, and track work orders using the SAP system
- Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks as needed
- Communicate effectively with operators, maintenance staff, and site leadership
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting across multiple voltage systems
- Hands-on plumbing and HVAC maintenance experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Experience using SAP or similar CMMS for work order tracking
- Forklift operation experience/certification preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in varying temperature conditions
- Willingness to work in a cold environment (approximately 40 F, with areas as low as 0 F)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TIG/MIG welding
- Familiarity with blade sharpening equipment and food-grade lubricants
- Prior experience in a meat, food, or cold-storage manufacturing environment

This position supports a fast-paced meat manufacturing and production facility, requiring a versatile maintenance professional comfortable working in cold, physically demanding conditions. The role involves close collaboration with operations and leadership to ensure equipment uptime and facility safety. Steel-toe boots are required starting Day 1; warm clothing is strongly recommended due to cold working conditions.
