Maintenance Technician II

As our Maintenance Technician II, you will be responsible for performing general repairs associated with all aspects of a building/warehouse setting including, but not limited to: Conveyors, carton sorters, warehouse racking, dock equipment, forklifts, plumbing and carpentry. This role installs all types of building components and warehouse equipment.

Shift: Sunday-Thursday 10:30pm-7:00am

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1. Repairs, installs and tears down conveyor belts and racking.  This can include transferring and moving objects that may weigh up to 200 pounds in cooperation with other individuals
2. Performs general maintenance of equipment including conveyors and sorters, forklifts, dock levelers, trailer restraints and other equipment
3. Responds to maintenance calls/requests in a timely manner under general supervision. Dismantles equipment/machines and makes proper repair. Verifies corrections before task or job is complete
4. Performs general painting of walls, furniture and miscellaneous items as necessary
5. Performs general repairs of all aspects of building maintenance
6. Completes work order documentation and submits to Maintenance Team Leader in a timely manner.  Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
7. Conducts all work activities in a safe manner
8. Cleans all areas as needed to maintain a safe work environment
9. Maintains regular and predictable attendance
10.  Abides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company

Marginal Functions

1. Repairs and installs plumbing, including faucets, and clearing drain clogs
2. Repairs and performs new construction of walls, shelves and cabinets
3. Installs, disassembles and moves new and existing furniture and modular cubicles
4. Performs snow removal utilizing proper equipment such as shovel and snow blower
5. Performs other duties as assigned
6. May drive company vehicle between locations; valid driver’s license and driving record in accordance with OTC standards is required for operation of company vehicles

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Conducts all work activities in compliance with OSHA regulations
• Requires knowledge and ability to operate and handle all varieties of hand and power tools
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating equipment, as set forth by the OTC certification standards
• Must provide own hand tools

Education

• Associate’s degree or trade school certificate or degree or equivalent experience

Experience

• Minimum two years experience in maintenance and manual labor including plumbing, painting, and mechanical repair work
• General AC/DC electrical experience is preferred
• Formal technical training a preferred

Other Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to climb ladders of all types to access roof and ceiling
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
• Must be able to walk frequently, use elevators and climb open grate stairways
• Ability to work rotational weekend shifts while being on call the entire weekend
