The Role:
As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing preventive maintenance across the manufacturing plant and the entire facility, contributing directly to smooth and reliable operations.
You will be tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and equipment, combining technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and reviewing and ordering spare parts within the facility. Additionally, you will run diagnostic tests while operating heavy machinery such as a forklift.
This position is a pivotal role within our facility, partnering with multiple departments to ensure a safe, secure, and functional working environment.
Your Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and industrial machinery (up to 480v) safely, professionally, and to standard while following all company and regulatory safe work and housekeeping practices.
Perform preventive maintenance on industrial production equipment (Extrusion & Control Panel Assembly) as well as facility preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and required for Total
Preventative Maintenance (TPM).
Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings for effective machine repair and maintenance
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns to minimize production disruption
Diagnose and repair electronic control systems, including PLCs, HMI devices, and Drives
Can diagnose electrical panels and equipment using instruments such as an ammeter
Maintain and improve cleanliness and organization of plant and facility
May initiate purchase orders for spare parts and shop consumable items.
Enters and maintains service records and break down records of all production equipment and facility items in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM).
Develop and maintain a partnership approach to operations, quality, and EHS
Participate in continuous improvement programs to include 5S
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Position continually requires demonstrated tact and diplomacy.
Requirements:
At least 3+ years of professional working experience and/or training with production processes, machines, electrical equipment, and/or tools.
At least 1+ years of experience within an industrial manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
Forklift certification is preferred, not required.
Working experience with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions, and decimals.
Working experience with various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.
Working experience and interpreting documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
A growth mindset paired with clear, effective verbal and written communication skills will be necessary for success.
Experience with continual attention to detail in follow-through, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
