ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Purpose of Position: The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains equipment, production machines, tools, and facility systems to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position also supports facility cleanliness, shop and office maintenance needs, inventory of consumable supplies, and recycling/waste removal activities, including cardboard, wood, skids, metals, plastics, municipal waste, water, and fluids.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Previous maintenance, facility, manufacturing, woodworking, or related hands-on experience preferred.
Proven ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel to complete preventive maintenance tasks, documentation, and reporting; PowerPoint experience is optional.
Basic proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and material-handling equipment.
Ability to read and interpret written instructions, maintenance documentation, numerical data, and basic mechanical/electrical information.
PLC ladder logic knowledge is preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, safety, efficiency, and quality.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information, develop practical solutions, and collaborate with others.
Self-motivated, hardworking, reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work efficiently under time constraints in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to understand Spanish is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and work in shop, production, exterior, or facility areas that may include dust, noise, seasonal temperatures, and other manufacturing conditions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks for several hours throughout the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
