The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production operations. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment such as conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, PLC-controlled systems, and production machinery
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures and make necessary repairs
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment issues and safety hazards
Install, align, and calibrate machinery and equipment
Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime
Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations
Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and a clean work area
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (technical or trade school preferred)
2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing or production environment preferred)
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge of PLCs, motors, drives, and control systems
Experience with welding, machining, or fabrication is a plus
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems (CMMS)
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Ability to read ladder logic and electrical schematics
OSHA safety training or certifications
Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certification
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in industrial environments with noise, dust, heat, or cold
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
