Job Summary

Assist the Facility Manager in all aspects of housekeeping and facility maintenance. General maintenance duties include the repair of the facility and associated systems. Perform preventive and routine maintenance on equipment. Maintain inventory records with Limble for equipment, tools, and supplies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting and basic schematic reading.
  • Perform regular and preventive maintenance on equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime.
  • Ensure the Limble preventive maintenance system is utilized, and employees are properly trained.
  • Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities based on Limble work orders.
  • Assign Limble work orders to the appropriate maintenance technician and ensure closure after repair or preventive maintenance is performed.
  • Initiate purchase requests for required tools, parts, and materials.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades and modifications, as well as mechanical safety procedures.
  • Perform all work in accordance with company housekeeping, safety practices, and environmental regulations.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on equipment, plan for and take corrective action.
  • Make necessary corrections and adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Review the production schedule and perform scheduled maintenance when equipment is not in use for manufacturing.
  • Test equipment to check operation and try out equipment after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime.
  • Examine defects, analyze issues, and take corrective action; record causes of production delays on daily shift reports.
  • Notify the manager and create work in Limble for recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken, as well as quality problems or supplies needed.
  • Maintain and repair facility and grounds.
  • Rig and move equipment.
  • Install equipment and fixtures.
  • Repair and maintain building aspects such as painting, doors, patching holes, filter changes, etc.
  • Perform light fabrication and construction.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the maintenance shop.
  • Adhere to all safety and quality procedures/regulations.
  • Provide proper employee training within the maintenance department.
  • Report and document all department employee concerns to the Facility Manager, including attendance issues and work performance.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Forklift certified.
  • 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Safety conscious at all times.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Prior safety training, including lockout/tag out, electrical hazards, and proper lifting techniques.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience in the operation of shop equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet schedules.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Problem-solving skills for developing new solutions, methods, or systems that impact company success.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately.
  • Seeking a maintenance technician with an electrical background. Preferably someone that has the following skills:
    • Strong Electrical 110/240/480 (3-phase)
    • Prior PLC troubleshooting and/or programming would be a huge plus.
    • Basic mechanical troubleshooting experience.
    • Hydraulic, pneumatic & plumbing experience
    • Prior rubber and/or plastics background would be a plus (extrusion or injection molding)
    • Prior welding experience (mig/tig/arc) would be a plus.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • Technical certificate.
