Maintenance Technician Support a Mission-Driven Organization While Keeping Our Campus Running Smoothly
Latham Centers is seeking a reliable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Specialist to help maintain our residential and educational campus in Brewster, Massachusetts. This position is responsible for ensuring our buildings, vehicles, and grounds remain safe, functional, and welcoming for the children, adults, and staff we serve.
Location: Brewster, MA Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM Pay Range: $19.75–$22.00 per hour
Position Overview
Maintenance Tech performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventative upkeep tasks across campus. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities - Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout residential, educational, and administrative buildings
- Troubleshoot and address issues involving plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, heating, and general building operations
- Complete preventative maintenance projects to ensure facilities remain in good working condition
- Assist with landscaping, snow removal, and overall grounds maintenance
- Conduct inspections and identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues
- Support the upkeep, servicing, and coordination of organization-owned vehicles
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
- Work respectfully within environments that support individuals with special needs
- Participate in an on-call rotation or respond to urgent maintenance needs when required
- Perform additional duties related to facility operations as assigned
Qualifications - High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, construction, or a related trade preferred
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair techniques
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment
- Valid driver's license required
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
