Location: Madison, WI. Pay Range: $21–$38 per hour Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Property Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform essential maintenance tasks, assist senior technicians, and contribute to preventative maintenance efforts that help maintain property value, ensure resident satisfaction, and support community success.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing vacant units for market readiness under supervision.
Respond promptly to resident service requests and ensure follow-up until issues are resolved.
Support preventative maintenance tasks, including:
Changing light bulbs and filters
Painting, drywall patching, and lock repairs
Pool maintenance (if applicable)
Assist with snow removal during inclement weather by 6:00 a.m. and maintain snow removal and salting logs for payroll purposes.
Participate in the on-call emergency service rotation with other maintenance staff.
Accurately complete maintenance logs, timesheets, and checklists.
Maintain clean, safe, and debris-free grounds and common areas.
Communicate effectively with residents, team members, and vendors.
What We're Looking For
Knowledge & Skills
Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
Familiarity with tools and equipment such as drills, saws, and meters.
Education & Experience
High school diploma preferred.
Trade school training is a plus.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Auto insurance required.
Basic maintenance tools required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
