3rd Shift: 10pm - 6am Monday through Friday

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and performing mechanical and electrical repairs on production and facility equipment. This role supports preventive maintenance initiatives, troubleshoots equipment issues, and helps ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and execute the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to reduce unscheduled equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment issues.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support systems.
  • Inspect, test, and operate equipment to identify malfunctions and verify completed repairs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot motors, instrumentation, distribution systems, and feed control systems.
  • Develop and implement sustainable solutions to recurring equipment issues.
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Document all maintenance activities using work order systems, software, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist with equipment changeovers, line startups, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Identify replacement parts, maintain inventory levels, and update reorder lists as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with production and cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide recommendations to enhance processes and equipment performance.
  • Ensure all products are manufactured to established quality standards.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including:
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
    • Food Safety Standards
    • OSHA Regulations
    • Company Safety Policies and Procedures

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry 50-80 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and safely operate manlifts/scissor lifts at elevated heights.
  • Comfortable working in a non-air-conditioned manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for handling, reaching, and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Frequent exposure to oils, greases, and coolants.
  • Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, vibration, chemicals, and elevated work areas.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and maintain balance when required.
  • Must possess adequate vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
