The Maintenance Technician <\/span>(Mechanical) <\/span>is responsible for <\/span>maintaining <\/span>the mechanical integrity and reliability of production equipment used throughout <\/span>the <\/span>structural steel fabrication and components manufacturing operations. This position performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on fabrication equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, overhead cranes, conveyors, material handling equipment, and production machinery to maximize <\/span>equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support on-time production of structural steel assemblies and components.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Working closely with Engineering, Electromechanical Maintenance, and Operations, the Mechanical Maintenance Technician <\/span>identifies <\/span>mechanical failures, completes repairs, performs equipment installations, and supports continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, productivity, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>

<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div>

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and install mechanical systems supporting structural steel fabrication and secondary manufacturing operations, including:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Structural steel fabrication equipment, automated production machinery, and <\/span>component <\/span>manufacturing systems.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Cold-forming equipment, hydraulic press brakes, plate processing equipment, <\/span>and <\/span>saw systems.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Welding positioners, fabrication fixtures, production tooling, and assembly equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Material handling and production support equipment, including overhead cranes, hoists, conveyors, transfer systems, welding positioners, fabrication fixtures, assembly equipment, and custom production tooling<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Facility mechanical infrastructure, including dust collection systems, ventilation equipment, cooling systems, industrial piping, lubrication systems, and other production support equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Mechanical power transmission systems, including bearings, gearboxes, shafts, couplings, chains, belts, sprockets, pulleys, rollers, reducers, and drive assemblies.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including power units, pumps, cylinders, motors, valves, manifolds, air compressors, regulators, filters, actuators, and compressed air distribution systems.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic circuits using technical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems supporting structural steel fabrication and <\/span><\/span>components<\/span> <\/span>manufacturing.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions and restore operations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Fabricate or <\/span>modify <\/span>brackets, guards, machine supports, and replacement components as needed.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Perform mechanical disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of production equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Assist <\/span>with installation, relocation, commissioning, and startup of new production equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Communicate equipment status, repair progress, and operational concerns to Production and Maintenance leadership.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Other duties as assigned.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>Qualifications:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>

<\/p><\/div>Minimum of five years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, fabrication, automation, or a related environment preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Experience <\/span>maintaining <\/span>hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, crane, and rotating equipment <\/span>required.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Experience <\/span>maintaining <\/span>automated production equipment, robotics, CNC equipment, or heavy manufacturing machinery preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Experience in structural steel fabrication, metal manufacturing, welding operations, or similar industrial environments preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Experience working independently during equipment breakdowns and production emergencies <\/span>required.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Education: High school diploma or GED <\/span>required; vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance <\/span>or related <\/span><\/span>field<\/span> <\/span>a plus.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to <\/span>diagnose complex failures involving <\/span><\/span>interacting<\/span> <\/span>mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Proficiency <\/span>in the use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, meters, and diagnostic equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Must be able to read mechanical drawings, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Ability to safely <\/span>operate <\/span>maintenance tools, lifting equipment, and mobile equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and heavier loads with mechanical lifting equipment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Work in confined spaces and around moving equipment while following established safety procedures.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment and handling supplies.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe footwear, fall protection, and respiratory protection when <\/span>required.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
