Crestron is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Corporate Real Estate & Workplace Services (CREWS) team. This position is responsible for the support of the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and operation of Crestrons facilities across multiple New Jersey and New York locations. This position performs a broad range of facility maintenance, repair, and operational support activities across multiple trades, helping ensure safe, efficient, secure, and reliable workplace environments.
The role works under the guidance of management while demonstrating increasing technical proficiency, independence, and accountability. Employees at this level are expected to support facility operations, contribute to team development, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and upkeep of building systems, infrastructure, equipment, fixtures, lighting, doors, and facility components
- Execute skilled multi-trade maintenance work including carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall, ceilings, lock systems, and general building repairs
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, operational continuity, and facility readiness
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of facilities, grounds, access points, security systems, and critical building infrastructure
- Respond to facility service requests, troubleshoot maintenance issues, and implement corrective actions or escalate complex problems as needed
- Create, update, and close work orders; maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, logs, and related documentation
- Coordinate, escort, and monitor contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with safety, security, and work scope requirements
- Support facility operations, including building opening/closing procedures, emergency response activities, and operational issue resolution
- Maintain compliance with safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazard identification, and enforcement of company safety standards
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other maintenance or material-handling equipment
- Collaborate with team members through cross-training, knowledge sharing, continuous skill development, and support of facility initiatives
Qualifications:
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- 1-3 years experience in skilled multi-trade maintenance work, general building repairs
- Minimum 1 years experience HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Certification preferred
- Valid driver license in NJ or NY. Must be able to travel to between buildings on Campus and Orangeburg, NY and Cresskill, NJ locations using your personal vehicle
- Detail oriented
- Knowledge of maintenance tools, materials, equipment, and safe work practices
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prioritize tasks, and maintain a safe, professional work environment
- Proficient in Carpentry, furniture, and basic plumbing systems
- Computer literacy Microsoft Office, Teams
- Ability to work with/without supervision
- Strong technical aptitude
- Understanding of the operation of various burglar/alarm systems, and irrigation systems
- Customer service oriented
- Fluent in English, reading, writing, and speaking
- Self-motivated and proactive in approach to duties
- Ability to work well with team members and foster positive team spirit
- Ability to lift 40lbs and work on ladder exceeding 10' in height
- Powered industrial truck operation is a plus
