    Description

    Job Summary

    The Maintenance Technician provides facilities and maintenance support for multiple centers and office locations. This role is responsible for assessing repair needs, determining whether work should be completed in-house or by an external contractor, and performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. The Maintenance Technician ensures facilities are safe, functional, and compliant with applicable standards while delivering responsive customer service to site and office staff.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Respond to and validate repair and maintenance requests

    • Assess repair needs and determine the appropriate course of action, including in-house repairs or use of external contractors

    • Identify additional repair or maintenance needs beyond those initially reported

    • Perform maintenance and repair work, including plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring, HVAC, and general mechanical repairs

    • Meet with contractors on-site to review scopes of work and repair requirements

    • Monitor and verify completion and quality of contractor work

    • Communicate repair status and timelines with site and office staff

    • Obtain necessary approvals for repair work and communicate repair requirements to leadership

    • Provide effective customer service to centers and regional offices

    • Identify issues related to accessibility compliance, licensing standards, and playground safety

    Education & Experience

    Education

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required

    • Trade or technical certification preferred

    • Relevant experience or certifications may be considered in place of formal education

    Experience

    • 3–5 years of experience in general maintenance and repair

    • 1–2 years of experience in a specific trade discipline preferred

    Physical Effort & Occupational Risks

    • More than 50% of daily responsibilities involve prolonged physical activity

    • More than 50% of daily assignments involve potential occupational hazards

    Other Qualifications

    • Fundamental knowledge of construction, building systems, and general maintenance practices

    • Basic computer skills, including email and standard office software

    • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing schedules

    • Action-oriented, dependable, and customer-service focused mindset

    • Ability to meet background clearance requirements

    • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region
