Maintenance Technician

Location: Newark, NJ Position: Maintenance Technician Status: Full-time / On-site

8am – 4:30pm

$22.00/hr.

Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician will perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and upkeep throughout the school's facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the facility

Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and sheetrock repairs

Complete routine preventative maintenance

Install and repair equipment and appliances

Report completed and outstanding work to the Facilities Manager

Work alongside maintenance staff and outside contractors as needed

Qualifications:

3+ years of maintenance experience

Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems

Carpentry, painting, and sheetrock experience

General mechanical knowledge

Valid driver's license

Reliable and able to work independently

Physical Requirements:

This position requires extensive standing and walking throughout the school and its facilities.

Must be comfortable being on your feet for extended periods

Ability to move throughout the property and respond to maintenance needs as they arise

Must be able to perform general physical maintenance duties throughout the workday
