Job Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the reliability and performance of our production equipment and facility systems. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, ammonia refrigeration systems, and building infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
- Install, service, and maintain plant equipment and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using testing tools, inspections, and operational observations.
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct routine inspections and daily equipment rounds to identify potential issues.
- Maintain maintenance shops, mechanical rooms, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Assist with maintaining and updating Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Monitor inventory levels for maintenance parts, tools, and supplies and assist with ordering when needed.
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, and operational concerns to ensure effective communication between shifts.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
- Follow all safety policies and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and workplace hazards to management.
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Vocational or technical training preferred.
- 1-3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or processing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with welding, electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, ammonia refrigeration, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read technical diagrams, manuals, and equipment instructions.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, meat processing, or a related industry is preferred but not required.
