The Maintenance Technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. The position applies knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. The maintenance technician provides skilled mechanical and electrical support to all areas of manufacturing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: •Use advanced trades mathematics together with complicated drawings and specifications involving thorough technical skill knowledge and application of basic theory. •Considerable judgment required to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available. •Must possess basic electrical skills such as checking/replacing fuses, checking/replacing heaters, checking/replacing motors, replacing electrical contractors, repair wiring. These are representative of basic electrical skills required for this position; however, this is not an inclusive list of skills required. •Able to make decisions involving considerable initiative and ingenuity. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Required Education and Experience •Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field. •Three to five years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields. •Three years’ computer experience/operation and PLC programming. Preferred Education and Experience •Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. •A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes. Physical Demands: •Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required. •Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. |
