Basic Job Functions:

Responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician include but are not limited to:

  • Safely maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
  • Support plant operations and collaborate across departments to improve equipment reliability, process efficiency, and plant automation.
  • Install and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Read and interpret prints, schematics, and work instructions to complete maintenance activities safely and effectively.
  • Operate tools and material handling equipment while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical degree in an industrial maintenance-related field OR minimum two (2) years of Nucor OR equivalent industrial electrical/mechanical maintenance experience
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-craft industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems
  • Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
