Position Overview: Maintenance Technician
Sigma, Inc. is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for one of our clients, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Athens, GA. This 12-month contract role offers an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals to support equipment reliability, utilities maintenance, and system performance in a regulated manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
    o Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and utility systems.
    o Ensure optimal performance and reliability of plant equipment and systems.
    o Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  2. Utilities & Systems Support:
    o Maintain and support systems including clean utilities, HVAC, and cleanroom environments.
    o Work on power plant utilities and high purity water (HPW) systems.
    o Support continuous operation of critical manufacturing infrastructure.
  3. Equipment Operation & Reliability:
    o Troubleshoot and maintain boilers, steam systems, and compressed air systems.
    o Operate and maintain chillers, cooling towers, and process chilled water systems.
    o Ensure proper functioning of RO/DI, clean steam, generators, and electrical systems.
  4. Compliance & Safety:
    o Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards and company policies.
    o Follow GMP and regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical environment.
    o Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and logs.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    o Identify equipment issues and recommend improvements.
    o Support initiatives to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
    o Participate in ongoing training and skill development.

Qualifications:

Education:
o High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceutical.
OR
o Associate’s or Technical Degree in a relevant field with 2+ years of experience in manufacturing (pharma preferred).

Experience:
o Hands-on experience in plant utilities and maintenance systems.
o Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Technical Skills:
o Knowledge of boilers, steam systems, and compressed air systems.
o Experience with centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and chilled water systems.
o Familiarity with RO/DI systems, HPW, and clean steam systems.
o Working knowledge of generators and electrical systems.
o Understanding of HVAC and cleanroom systems.

Skills:
o Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
o Knowledge of EHS standards and compliance requirements.
o Ability to work independently and manage maintenance tasks efficiently.
o Good communication and teamwork skills.
