POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Worker performs routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on company buildings, equipment, fuel pumps, and related systems. This position ensures all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include completing work orders, documenting maintenance activities, responding to emergency repairs, and maintaining facility appearance and functionality. Work hours may vary based on operational needs

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Building, Equipment & Pump Maintenance

•       Perform daily and weekly inspections of equipment (coolers, HVAC, coffee dispensers, fuel pumps) and carry out preventative maintenance to avoid failures.

•       Complete a General Maintenance Checklist and Building Maintenance Checklist for each gas station once per month; checklists must be signed by both the store manager and the maintenance worker.

•       Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and accurately document all maintenance activities in the designated maintenance management system (e.g., MaintainX).

•       Record all maintenance and repair work daily using the Work Order Request Form.

•       Respond to emergency maintenance requests (urgent work orders) first, then address regular requests in order of priority.

•       Maintain a complete and up-to-date Equipment List per station; update whenever equipment is added, removed, or modified.

•       Report all completed daily Work Orders and monthly Checklists to the designated person every Friday by 4:00 PM in the office.

•       Repair electrical equipment, locks, control panels, and wiring to maintain building security and safety.

•       Fix minor electrical issues (lighting), plumbing issues (faucets, drains), and hardware repairs (doors, locks).

•       Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs, suppliers, or storerooms as needed.

•       Assist with the installation and maintenance of heating and ventilation systems.

•       Perform outside duties including snow removal, landscaping, pressure washing, and painting as required.

•       Operate and maintain all company tools and equipment properly; keep a current log of all company equipment, tools, and parts.

 

2. Company Vehicle Operation

•       Operate company vehicle in accordance with safe driving practices and all applicable traffic regulations.

•       Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained at all times, including scheduled maintenance at designated intervals; notify the office in advance of all scheduled maintenance and maintain complete maintenance records.

•       Use the company vehicle strictly for business purposes; personal use is prohibited.

•       Plan all trips efficiently to minimize travel time.

•       Keep a valid insurance card and vehicle registration in the vehicle at all times.

•       Be responsible for prompt payment of any fines incurred as a result of unlawful operation or illegal parking.

•       Return the company vehicle to one of the designated locations and leave keys with the designated person.

•       Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.

 

3. Administrative Duties

•       Complete the Weekly Maintenance Worker Timesheet by accurately recording time spent at each location.

 

4. Site Upkeep & Safety Compliance

•       Ensure parking lot cleanliness, empty exterior trash, and perform basic landscaping.

•       Adhere to Pennsylvania safety regulations and OSHA standards, ensuring all fire safety equipment is functional.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

•       High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

•       Prior experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade preferred.

•       Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.

•       Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must be an authorized driver.

•       Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple work orders.

•       Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

•       Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

•       Work is performed both indoors and outdoors across multiple sites.

•       May be required to work in inclement weather conditions, including snow removal during Pennsylvania winters.

•       Must be available for emergency maintenance calls as needed.

•       Travel between company locations is required using a company vehicle.
