Maintenance Technician

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician who enjoys solving complex technical problems on the fly, keeping high-speed production running, and helping our operations grow. If you are highly skilled in troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems, confident reading schematics, and ready to take a hands-on role on the production floor, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.CompensationStarting Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour (Dependent on experience).Work ScheduleFull-time, onsite role based in Plymouth, MN.Hours: Monday–Friday / 5:00 am – 1:00 pm; 8 hour shift-shift hours may change.Ability to arrive as early as 5:00 am is preferred, but not required.Why Placon – You'll Love It HereImpactful Role: A hands-on position where your technical expertise truly matters to keep our plant running smoothly.Modern Facility: A supportive manufacturing environment equipped with production and auxiliary machinery.Professional Growth: Opportunities to stay up to date on emerging technologies, influence processes, and continuously grow your skills.Stability & Balance: Competitive pay, great benefits, and a stable schedule that supports work–life balance.Strong Culture: A growth-minded team environment where safe work practices are always prioritized.What You'll DoPerform Maintenance: Provide breakdown, corrective, and preventive electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical maintenance on all production equipment.Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and repair complex production and auxiliary equipment to "as built" condition with minimal supervision.System Integration: Integrate electrical control systems for new/rebuilt machinery, facilities equipment, and process improvements.Build & Fabricate: Participate in the specification, building, rebuilding, installation, and fabrication of electronic control systems.Optimize Programs: Monitor machine operations and assist in developing preventive maintenance (PM) programs to ensure uninterrupted operation.Safety & Compliance: Ensure all machinery and facilities comply with applicable safety codes, including OSHA, National Electric Code (NEC), and LOTO protocols.Collaborate: Partner with the Maintenance Lead and team to execute work orders according to schedule and improve machine operations.What You BringEducation & Experience: Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Electronics, or a related field plus 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience OR 6+ years of increasingly complex industrial maintenance experience.Technical Blueprints: Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC Ladder logic programs.Systems Expertise: Solid understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), digital/analog servo systems, and automated machine controls.Shop Skills: Competency using electronic test equipment, hand/powered tools, and standard welding techniques (soldering, ARC, MIG).Certifications: Ability to safely operate motorized vehicles including forklifts and elevated work platforms.Physical Capability: Comfortable moving freely throughout the facility, working on your feet, and occasionally lifting up to 50+ lbs.Mindset: A self-starter attitude with strong interpersonal skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a stellar history of working safely.Does this sound like you?If you feel that this job is what you're looking for, applying is a piece of cake-just follow the instructions on this page.
