General Summary:

Facilities Staff perform routine building, grounds, vehicular maintenance, shipping and receiving duties, event set up and break down, with the objective of providing an effective physical learning environment, efficient support services, and an aesthetically appealing campus. The position requires general maintenance knowledge and skills as well as some knowledge of event management.


PrimaryResponsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs of buildings, equipment or grounds.
  • Respond to work orders from employees either in written or oral form on a timely basis.
  • Serve as shipping and receiving staff to determine that items are received as ordered, in good condition, are properly assembled, and are properly delivered or installed.
  • Inspect on a weekly basis assigned buildings and or grounds to determine any necessary maintenance.
  • In adverse weather, maintain safe condition of grounds and buildings to permit School to continue operating Perform light building and grounds maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, paint, and drywall)
  • Individual also needs to be proficient with Microsoft office products

Other Duties:

  • Follow Lockout/Tag procedures.
  • Recommend buildings and grounds improvements as identified to Director of Facilities.
  • As assigned by Director of Facilities, coordinate activities with outside service vendors.
  • Complete training programs as assigned by Director of Facilities.

Compensation:

Compensation will be within a range of $27.40 to $31.25 per hour based on experience.

Requirements:

MinimumQualifications:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Brings perspectives, identities and skills that reflect, affirm and enrich the diversity of the Overlake community
  • Minimum five years' experience in a facilities related trade or field or Minimum three years of commercial or residential grounds management experience. Formal training in any field is a plus
  • Individual must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Willing to work outside in inclement weather.
  • Must also be able to operate commercial tractor and misc. 4 wheels drive maintenance vehicles.

Physical Requirements


  • Must be capable of standing/walking without restrictions
  • Must have the ability to reach, grasp, handle and grip without difficulty on a continuous basis
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, or squat on a frequent basis, ranging from slight forward bending through to floor level
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a constant to frequent basis
  • Must be able to occasionally push and/or pull objects, depending on work assignment
  • Must have the ability to work at heights, such as on ladders, gym ceilings, roofs, etc.
  • Must possess good reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to write basic daily reports, send emails and text messages.
  • Must have the ability to interact professionally and in a welcoming manner with students, staff, parents and public.
  • Must maintain a clean, professional appearance while on duty.
