Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. The roles and responsibilities listed are not meant to be all inclusive. The needs of the company may require individuals to perform other functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions and or welding as required.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Produce down time reports as necessary.
• Support and participate in EHS objectives
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:

• Associate's degree in maintenance is preferred or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Maintenance role.
• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills
• Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Plant work environment with fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter).
• Exposure to certain noise levels and bright lights.
• Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, glasses, gloves, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to reach up above the head
• Ability to bend and stoop
• Ability to focus for extended periods of time
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
