The Maintenance Technician assists internal and external maintenance personnel in maintaining systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; trouble shooting, restoring, repairing, rebuilding or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Teamwork, self-motivation, a positive attitude, organization, and the ability to communicate well with others are musts for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations pertaining to internal and external customers.
Performs maintenance in warehouse building and grounds, stores and delivery equipment as needed, up to and including welding, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
Will attend Crown Demonstrate Performance Training classes, to maintain the skills necessary to succeed as a Maintenance Technician.
Receives and follows instructions in a respectful and professional manner.
Uses hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, utility vehicles, and motor vehicles with increasing skill, safety and care.
Works well independently or with others as per the requirement of assigned tasks.
Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Maintains a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery.
Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices.
Keeps work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Will conduct safety, building, grounds and equipment training sessions.
Other work related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Related work experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong aptitude for understanding, welding and repairing mechanical, HVAC, electrical, warehouse structure and plumbed equipment.
Excellent verbal, written communication, comprehension and listening skills.
Ability to complete paperwork in an accurate, neat and efficient manner.
Demonstrated knowledge of software, including Microsoft Office.
Professionalism, flexibility, cooperation, self-motivation, friendliness, helpfulness, and solid work ethic.
Organized, detail oriented, and task motivated.
Ability to learn new skills through experience and instruction by others.
Ability to work with and train associates to become machine operators.
Physical Demands:
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull and lift cartons weighing approximately 50-100+lbs. Repetitively.
Other Requirements:
Must maintain an MVR that is within the company guidelines to perform required duties.
