We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team here in St. Johns! The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of cultivation facilities by performing scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and necessary repairs. This position operates within a fast-paced, physically demanding, and highly regulated medical-grade horticultural environment, requiring strict attention to detail, compliance with established protocols, and effective collaboration with team members. The role directly supports operational efficiency and helps maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performing facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Conduct mechanical tasks using hand tools and operate power tools safely.
  • Replace light bulbs, A/C filters, and other facility-related components.
  • Install and maintain sinks, toilets, and urinals.
  • Take temperature and boiler room readings, test generators, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Repair minor leaks (less than 4” in diameter).
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with major projects as needed.
  • Properly use, maintain, and operate department tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate professionally and effectively with coworkers.
  • Maintaining compliance with worker protection standards.
  • Install industrial and commercial machinery.
  • Adjust, clean, and calibrate equipment components for optimization.
  • Fabricate metal structures based on specifications.
  • Operate and provide heavy equipment with required training on maintenance and track information on heavy equipment hours of use.
  • Pass test of basic (SMAW) and fabrication.
  • Inspect and measure various instruments of machinery for possible reconstruction and recovery.
  • Disassemble and examine malfunctioning machinery for repair.
  • Perform regular diagnostic and maintenance tests.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting and analyzing patterns and performance.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, parts and supplies.
  • Comply with regulations and wear proper PPE, to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Complete continual technical training to stay up to date on modern machinery controls and processes.
  • Train other production workers on routine maintenance and machine safety.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Assist with the implementation of company policies, standard operating procedures, and performance standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Daily compliance with company policies including but not limited to; state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress code, and work schedules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and Level 2 Florida State background check.
  • Previous maintenance, facilities, industrial, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
Payrate: $18/hr
