Keep the equipment running on the swing shift at a brand-new advanced-materials site, working hands-on across the facility systems, the process equipment, and the building itself.
About the role
You are responsible for the efficient operation, reliability, and upkeep of the facility infrastructure, equipment, and machinery on the 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Pacific shift. You are the maintenance presence on that shift, so the work spans facility systems and process equipment. Beyond preventive maintenance and repairs, you support technical projects: equipment modifications, fabricating specialty parts and fixtures, coordinating outside vendors and machine shops, and executing small-scale projects.
What you will be doing
Routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on reactors, pumps and valves, mixers and agitators, storage tanks, instrumentation, and control systems
Facility systems: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), chillers, boilers, air compressors, vacuum, DI water, plumbing, building exterior, security systems, and fire safety systems
Troubleshoot electrical and plumbing issues to keep operations uninterrupted
Replace and install electrical components in industrial machinery and equipment
Diagnose electrical faults, run root cause analysis, and implement repairs
Use test equipment and read schematics to identify faults in electrical systems and machinery
Work orders and preventive maintenance in a CMMS, and keep the spare-parts inventory current and organized
General upkeep as needed: painting, carpentry, HVAC filter changes, lighting fixture repairs
What we are looking for
5 or more years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Mechanical background with some electrical capability
Vocational training or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
Confident troubleshooting common electrical and plumbing problems
Comfortable working in a lab and plant environment around industrial chemicals, wearing the required personal protective equipment, and comfortable with ladders and rooftop equipment
Able to work the swing shift, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Pacific, fully onsite
Must have permanent US work authorization; this client does not sponsor
Site and environment
Fremont, CA 94538, fully onsite
