MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $24.38 - $30.48 per hour / $47,542 - $59,440/year We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Library buildings, grounds, and equipment. Essential Job Functions - Performs routine and preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of: HVAC systems, boilers, air handlers, pumps, motors, and associated auxiliary devices; electrical distribution systems and components including lighting/light fixtures, electrical panels, circuit breakers, switches, and receptacles; plumbing systems including maintenance and repair of pipes, pressure gauges, regulators, sanitary fixtures, grease traps, drainage systems and lawn irrigation systems.
- Performs carpentry including repairs to wood components and structures, furniture, doors, drywall, and windows, and performs painting as required.
- Performs inspections, repairs and/or maintenance of roofing systems, building exteriors, sidewalks, parking lots, grounds, and grounds equipment.
- Operates computer-based energy management systems and lighting control systems.
- Utilizes computer-based routine & preventative maintenance work order programs.
Knowledge & Skills - Demonstrated knowledge of general construction methods and commercial building utility systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of facilities maintenance practices and experience with the operations and maintenance of HVAC systems, DDC controls, steam boilers, electrical systems/lighting, plumbing, roofing and other areas of general building maintenance.
- Diagnostic/troubleshooting skills and a demonstrated knowledge of hand tools, power tools and diagnostic/test equipment utilized in the maintenance of commercial facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to utilize PC for the operation of energy management systems and lighting systems, maintenance work order system, e-mail and electronic timecard.
Requirements - High School Diploma or GED.
- Four (4) years experience with skilled trades or facilities maintenance.
- Ability to meet the library’s vehicle insurance carrier’s requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and transportation as needed.
- Able to pass a drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
