Maintenance Technician

Position: Full-Time with Benefits
Annual Salary: $36,065–$55,704, based on experience and qualifications

Bland County Public Schools is seeking a dependable, skilled Maintenance Technician to help maintain safe, functional, and well-kept school buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance on school facilities and equipment.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and heating and cooling maintenance within the employee’s qualifications.
• Inspect facilities, identify maintenance needs, and report safety concerns.
• Assist with groundskeeping, snow removal, and other seasonal maintenance.
• Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and division vehicles.
• Respond to maintenance requests and assist with emergency repairs as needed.
• Work cooperatively with school staff and the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related trade preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and safe work practices.
• Ability to follow directions, solve problems, and work independently.
• Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting and carrying materials, climbing ladders, bending, and working indoors and outdoors, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must successfully complete required pre-employment screenings and background checks.

Three letters of reference is required.
