The Hartland Lakeside School District is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of all district facilities. Duties would include but are not limited to:

  • Performing repairs related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Diagnose building system issues and coordinate or assist with preventative maintenance activities.
  • Assist with snow removal, grounds preparation, and the repair of maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Monitor facility conditions, identify safety concerns, and assist the Director of Buildings and Grounds in coordinating maintenance needs across the district.
  • Serve as a substitute custodian as needed, including cleaning, floor care, and cafeteria setup.

Regular shift is 8 hours per day.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or G.E.D., and a valid driver''s license required. Applicant will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building or facilities maintenance, experience in school or commercial facilities preferred. The ability to work independently without supervision and communicate effectively with other staff, students, and community members. Applicant will have some knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Painting and Carpentry.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize and find common ground for the good of the District. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Evidence of outstanding organizational abilities; ability to handle multiple responsibilities. Ability to work as a successful team member with coworkers. Should have a history of confidentiality, stability, neatness, punctuality, loyalty, ethical consciousness, organization skills, and flexibility. Must have basic knowledge of computers.
