Maintenance Technician

Rockstar Recruiting is seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Technician for a vibrant apartment community in Wichita, KS. This role is responsible for maintaining the physical assets of the property, handling general maintenance repairs, apartment turnovers, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure the community runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete turnover of vacant units in alignment with company policy.
• Implement and manage the preventative maintenance program.
• Oversee inventory control, including ordering materials and maintaining stock, while ensuring competitive pricing of supplies.
• Conduct regular property inspections to ensure optimal maintenance.
• Keep the maintenance shop clean and organized.
• Adhere to company safety guidelines and policies.
• Assist in planning and executing resident events as needed.
• Respond to and resolve a wide range of service requests, aiming to resolve within 24 hours when possible.
• Maintain accurate documentation for preventative maintenance, service requests, and make-ready statuses.
• Perform repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, building exteriors, and appliances.
• Be available for a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call emergencies.

Required Skills:

• Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills with residents and team members.
• Proficiency in all aspects of property maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, pool, appliances, etc.).
• HVAC/EPA certification preferred, but not required.
• Ownership of personal hand tools is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in multifamily property maintenance preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service orientation and positive attitude.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Full-time
• Pay Range: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Work Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• On-call availability as needed

Education & Experience:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Experience: 1 year of maintenance experience (Required)

Certification Requirements:

• Driver's License (Required)
• HVAC Certification (Preferred)
• EPA Certification (Preferred)

Location Requirements:

• Must be able to relocate to Wichita, KS 67217 before starting work.
