Maintenance Technician

Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing and walking required. Position requires frequent stooping, bending and lifting of up to 75 lbs. Climbing stairs, reaching, stretching, and moving furniture required. Must be able to traverse in small confined areas (cluttered chase ways and crawl spaces above ceilings).  

Working hours: Will vary dependent on hotel occupancy. May be required to work early mornings and/or late evenings when special events and full occupancy occur. Must be able to work weekend shifts as needed.  Schedule will be dictated by Maintenance Engineer

The Courtyard by Marriott Winter Haven is seeking a Maintenance professional. Experience is required, preferably in the hotel industry. You must be a hard working and dependable individual.

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Maintain and repair various items in rooms and common areas of the hotel
• General knowledge of Electrical, HVAC, Pool and other areas of maintenance
• Perform a preventative maintenance schedule
• Change and remove trash inside and outside the hotel
• Minor landscaping when needed
• Report any damages or repairs needed to management
• Report all lost and found items to the Housekeeping Manager
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and managers
• Willing to learn about the Courtyard brand and Marriott Hotels
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Reliable mode of transportation
• Can be a team player
• Willing to maintain confidentiality of our guests
• Assist guests with requests and questions as necessary
• Ensure a high level of customer service is performed at all times
• MUST BE FLEXIBLE with schedule. As we are open 365 days and 24 hours a day nights, weekends and holidays may be required.
