Maintenance Technician – Woodstock, Illinois
Our customer in Woodstock, Illinois is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team on 1st shift. This is a great opportunity for someone mechanically inclined with a strong background in troubleshooting and repairing building systems, machinery, and equipment. The Maintenance Technician will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, service calls, and equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Install, adjust, and replace equipment parts and components as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with general facility upkeep such as lighting, painting, and carpentry.
• Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors when needed.
Maintenance Technician Requirements and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 to 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician, Mechanic, or related role.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, or machinery repair strongly preferred.
• Ability to operate or cross-train on heavy equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety training requirements.
Pay for Maintenance Technician: $22.00 – $35.00/hour (based on experience and skill level)
