Job Title: Maintenance Technician, Night Shift - 25-01050

Spherion Mid-Ohio is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Technician for a direct hire position at a longstanding manufacturing firm in Wayne County, Ohio.

This position offers a pay rate of up to $35/hour with quarterly and annual bonus potential. Excellent benefits (including 401k) start on day one! Rotating 12-hour shifts allow for 3 and 4-day weekends every week.

Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the timely, effective, and efficient repair and maintenance of all equipment, plumbing, and electrical service to the building and surrounding property. The Maintenance Technician will assist and take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all areas of responsibility run efficiently.
 
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety procedures, wearing required PPE, properly handling tools and equipment, keeping work areas clean, responding to emergencies, and adhering to SOPs and company policies.

- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant systems and mechanical equipment (i.e., motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production equipment); furnish tools, supplies, and parts, as needed, for proper repair to ensure the safe and efficient use of all equipment.

- Safely operate and maintain the proper working condition of tools, equipment, and - machinery; lubricate and clean parts.

- Perform minor electrical repairs such as replacing fuses, switches, solenoids, and gates; troubleshoot electrical problems with the use of a voltmeter/amp meter or other instruments to test components, check amperage, etc.; inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

- Disassemble equipment using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes to access, repair, or replace defective components.

- Set up and operate metalworking equipment, including lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, end mills, and pipe threaders, to repair or fabricate parts and tools.

- Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to diagnose machine malfunction; determine need for adjustment or repair; use operating and diagnostic touch screens and menus to monitor conditions, check settings, or troubleshoot problem conditions; start or operate equipment to test its performance, or troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.

- Operate and maintain Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) functions utilizing visual and electronic displays; maintain RTO log and Fault log; troubleshoot and maintain plant dust collectors and bag houses; troubleshoot and maintain plant vacuum material delivery systems; troubleshoot and repair gas and heat systems for production ovens; troubleshoot, operate and maintain cooling tower; maintain boiler systems.

- Utilize software programs, such as Step Seven, RS Logix, RS Linx, and others, to diagnose and troubleshoot common problems with PLC’s, equipment displays, communications, etc.; Utilize and update Maintenance Work Order System on a timely basis; maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and equipment.

- Support Lean Sigma initiatives by participating in Kaizen events, completing scheduled 5S activities, and maintaining daily housekeeping standards.
 
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Electrical experience required; PLC exposure preferred (Siemens experience a plus, but not required).
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training.
- Crane Certification, Forklift/Hand Truck Certification, and Lean Sigma Training preferred.
- Ability to work independently during night shift after training.
